If One Pound Gospel was OMGWAT, a Honey and Clover drama is total OMGYESSSS. If you don’t know it yet, Honey and Clover has to be one of my favourite anime titles EVER. I always thought that Honey and Clover would be successful in live action form which was why I had high hopes for the movie… however, it didn’t meet my expectations but I do have high hopes for this because perhaps a longer time frame would be good for the series.

Narumi, Ikuta to star in “Honey and Clover” drama
Chika Umino’s popular “Honey and Clover” is the latest manga series to be adapted to television. It was turned into a movie in 2006, starring Yu Aoi. This time, 15-year-old actress Riko Narumi will be taking over as the lead character, Hagumi Hanamoto.
“Honey and Clover” follows the lives of five college students and their love triangles. Hagumi is a talented artist in her first year, even though she appears to be much younger. Toma Ikuta has been cast as Yuta Takemoto, the lead male character. The remaining main cast members have not yet been announced.
The drama will air on Fuji TV at 9:00pm every Tuesday, starting on January 8. Filming starts near the end of this month.
WOW, January is shaping up to be verryyy good. I have no complaints about the cast list so far. Riko Narumi looks like a suitable candidate for Hagu (better than the movie ver. imo) and I hope Toma has what it takes to pull off Takemoto… actually, what I most want is for good actors to play Mayama and Yamada because they are my favourite characters and their storyline is also total love to me.

If Toma dies his hair lyk that i’ll probaly kill him for it-i like his current hair colour ^^ Well the Honey and Clover manga kinnda lost me for a while until i started wathing the anime. A live action? Well i hope they get good ratings at least casue it looks interesting
This is going to rock on so many levels. My favorite anime & manga ever, a decent movie, now a potentially awesome drama!
Though Takemoto will be a really different character for Toma, he’s so serious…
